This is unrleated, but it's about some ...Also?

This is unrleated, but it's about some kid refusing to say pledge of allegieance in school.
They called the police on her, etc.

I haven't read the link yet but it sounded interesting.

It seems that our public education has become more of a tool of indoctrination of our children into "right thinking." And in this day and age, "right thinking" is not about actually teaching our children about our history, our Constitution, or our rights, liberties, and freedoms, (or much of anything else really), or encouraging their individuality, but more about indoctrination into a particular way of thinking.

No longer is the American time-honored value of individuality and the participation of the people through the questioning of authority as a necessary element for the success of any democratic society being taught to our children in general. Instead, as this article demonstrates, our children are being indoctrinated to conform to more of a borg-like way of thinking.

Here is a document I found some time ago while researching neoliberalism that I found quite alarming. First of all, for what purpose and for whom was this document written?

"Identities: How Governed, Who Pays?" By H.B. Paksoy, Lubbock, Texas, 2001

http://vlib.iue.it/carrie/texts/carrie_books/pa...

This document responds to some "project" that was begun in 1983. There are many euphemisms used such as "thought employers," "personality cult constructors," "personality cult agents," "leavening of identity," etc. But it seems to be a guide on how to covertly change how a society identifies itself in order to alter the existing order of things--for example, perhaps changing the American identity from that of a democratic society to one that is divided by class and governed by a "ruling class."

This work emphasizes the importance of gaining control at every level of govt, and in particular the public education system. It emphasizes the importance of indoctrinating children into "right thinking" (conforming to the new identity) from the first day of school. It also instructs what to do with those (those that remember the old ways) that are unwilling to conform to the new identity. Perhaps I'm over-reacting, but I found this work to be fairly alarming, particularly in light of what I see going on in our country (and other democractic societies) today.

At any rate, in light of how the other children treated this girl, I think this teacher should be made not only to apologize to that girl individually, but he should have to do so in front of the entire school body. An individual apology won't mean anything if those other children are not taught that what this teacher did to the girl according to our society's identity (a democratic republic) was unconstitutional (unAmerican) and therefore wrong.bronstein72https://www.blogger.com/profile/16721012118570546091noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6632813196384907322.post-34454554854140336422010-02-24T16:42:47.046-06:002010-02-24T16:42:47.046-06:00So IS this the worst country on Earth? So IS this the worst country on Earth?bronstein72https://www.blogger.com/profile/16721012118570546091noreply@blogger.com
